This project is long journey project . firstly i made a mind map about my dream

accordeon (back) - i used this pattern because the accordion part is about travel and sea/ocean is dominant, and this pattern looks like water and blue

For this project, i used photoshop, illustrator, and indesign. i just can 3 kinds of binding, i used japanese binding and accordeon, and hard cover.

i added a yellow ribbon to open the book easily

i stick the background inside. for the left page, i will put the japanese binding on black area and i chose galaxy because i love galaxy color and we can dream as wide as galaxy. Right page, i will put accordion on plain area, and i chose map because the accordion is about my travel dream.

** Front Cover - i used watercolor as the sea (travel) and sky (dream high), then i put a girl (edited and became silhouette) looks like want to touch the circle (symbolize of dream). I chose title "Believe it and Make it Happen" and used font 'fairy dusts' because the typeface looks like blowing.
** Back Cover - i added some description or little story about this book, and put a barcode to make this book looks like real book that we can buy at bookstore :b

the book when it open. this book cover is hardcover, so when you open it, it just a spread. Then it has 1 mini book left and 1 mini accordion on the right. The hard cover size is A3 (42 x 29.7 cm) and i folded it into 2 parts. 

when you open the first page of japanese binding, you will look the planets as tab of book and make you easier to open per page.

Then the instruction told us to make a poster side A3 to promote my book.  i have search some poster at bookstore and internet, but all of them use the book in the poster. so i need to finish the book first, then design the poster. i used the same background to make the look and feels stronger. Opacity of background is only 50%, so the book still standout.
I typed only title, book photo and add shadow, some description on the right, author name (MY NAME!! :D), and year of publish.

This book is about a little girl and her dreams. When she was a little girl, she loved to draw and paint Even she became really happy when she must go to the doctor for immunizations because when it is finished the injection, the doctor gave her a coloring book. She colored the book everyday, Eventhough she already has more then 5 books. She dreamed that one day her world is filled with art, pain, color, and shape. When she was a teenager, she took graphic design course in college. But it was not finish, she still has a lot of dreams. She believe that everything happened in her life is God's plan. With God, she is trying to make her dreams come true.

I am very happy when i can finished this book. i leant how to mix media in everything i made, how to use photoshop, illustrator, and indesign better, and the most important, i learnt to don't  postpone what you can do now.

Research Newsletter

For the final project, make a newsletter, i research and get some example of newsletter.

A newsletter is a regularly distributed publication generally about one main topic that is of interest to its subscribers. Newspapers and leaflets are types of newsletters. Additionally, newsletters delivered electronically via email (e-Newsletters) have gained rapid acceptance for the same reasons email in general has gained popularity over printed correspondence. Newsletters are given out at schools, to inform parents about things that happen in that school.

Many newsletters are published by clubs, churches, societies, associations, and businesses, especially companies, to provide information of interest to their members, customers or employees. Some newsletters are created as money-making ventures and sold directly to subscribers. Sending newsletters to customers and prospects is a common marketing strategy, which can have benefits and drawbacks. General attributes of newsletters include news and upcoming events of the related organization, as well as contact information for general inquiries.

Newsletter (Swarovski) - Indesign

HOLAAA, i want to share my final project of digital design. I have some option, such as : Financial Institution, Telecommunication Provider, Non-Government Organisation, Local Community, Lifestyle and Entertainment. i have research about newsletter (posted : Research Newsletter)

Firtsly, as always, i made a moodboard. It's include the logo, image, color pallet, and fonts. 

Second step, i made the sketch. Little bit messy but this just sketch :DD

I started make the newsletter with this, A4, facing pages, 13mm margin, 3mm bleed, and 8 columns (with more columns, it will more flexible to organize the paragraph and image). 

Because Mr. Em said we must use paragraph style and character style, i used them!

Mr. Em gave me some TIPS about font size :
body text = 9 - 11
headline = 11 - 14 
subhead = 10 - 12

i made page one and page four, then QC ( 13 February 2013 #1 )with mr. Em,

Feedback :
- change font, Gill Sans Lisght for example
- switch content
- add color as highlight
- only one dropap per story

After QC, i edited the page, and QC ( 14 February 2013 #2 )

Feedback :- the title should in a columns with body text
- delete the sentence
- this is the step, make it per point
- this is price of product, maybe would be better if the price is in image 

Feedback :
- the ledding is too far
- add the ledding, so the picture below not awkward
- just delete the sentence- this box little bit messy, make it neat
- leading too far

Mr. Em gave the rule of saving data :

- save as > format > CS 4 IDML

- file > package (if you want to send everything as indesign)

- file > save as > PDF

- file > adobe PDF preset > HQ print

FINALY, ITS DONE! 

 on presentation day ( 15 February 2013 ), mr. Em comment :

- there are some "widow" words 

- Hello Kitty title should above the photo (centre of photo box)

- you should set row and columns as grid in master page, not only in page

I'm very happy and learnt so much things from this project.
